About the department: ING’s Financial Markets division offers hedging, investment products, and securities financing solutions to clients of ING’s Wholesale Banking division. The Corporate Sales team within Financial Markets specializes in marketing risk management solutions to corporate clients in industry sectors such as Energy, Healthcare, Industrials, Tech, Media & Telecom, and Metals & Mining. This includes providing hedging solutions related to project and acquisition finance transactions. Typical hedging transactions include flow and structured commodities and FX hedging, hedge coordination, deal-contingent interest rate swaps and cross-currency swaps. The Corporate Sales team works collectively to deliver optimal risk management strategies across products for clients. About the position: ING’s Financial Markets Division is looking for an experienced corporate salesperson to join its Corporate Sales team in New York. Ideal candidates will have prior experience with structuring, negotiating, and executing project finance and/or leveraged finance-related interest rate hedging solutions, as well as the ability to market ING’s capabilities in foreign exchange and commodities. In addition to managing the deal process from initial marketing to transaction closing, they will proactively source opportunities alongside lending deal teams to position ING as a lead for any hedging business. The ideal candidate will show strong entrepreneurship to build on a successful platform by looking for incremental business with new or existing clients, products, or industries. Collaboration with team members, internal support teams, and other front office colleagues is a must. Responsibilities: Work with Sector relationship managers and Financial Markets colleagues across the Americas region to identify and pitch commercial opportunities with existing and prospective clients. Coordinate negotiation of ISDA and other transactional documentation in partnership with internal legal and credit risk management teams Market, structure, negotiate and successfully execute derivative transactions with clients Work with Sector coverage bankers to properly document, explain, and obtain approval for derivative risk exposures from risk management teams Assist and back up sales team colleagues across products as needed Prepare marketing material / market updates for clients Qualifications and Competencies Requirements: 5 years of sales desk experience in marketing and executing interest rate derivatives, ideally with experience in project finance or leveraged finance hedging. Additional experience with foreign exchange and/or commodity derivatives is a plus. Expertise in negotiating and executing over-the-counter derivatives transactions Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills Excellent sales and relationship management skills; proven track record of client development and revenue generation FINRA registrations (Series 7, 63, SIE); Completion of NFA Swaps Proficiency Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Base Salary range: $230K-$250K ING is a committed equal opportunity employer.
